The Melba
The Melba Theatre, constructed in 1938, reopened in 2018 after an extensive renovation, including the theatre and adjoining properties. It is located at 214 S. Grand Ave., in Houston, Mo.

The Melba features a complete lighting and sound system, along with technology that allows programming to be shown on a large screen. Handicapped-accessible restrooms, dressing rooms and a concession stand are in the building. Parking is nearby. (downtown and nearby parking lot).

Many Organizations Use the Facility:
- The STARS Foundation serves six counties and offers musical lessons, programs and performs productions involving area residents. It presents a variety of programming and the most recent was a Rodgers and Hammerstein concert.
- Members of Community Betterment and Arts Council of Houston sponsor concert and stage performances.
- The Houston School District, which serves about 1,100 students, uses the facility for music and dramatic productions, as well as meetings.
- Additional uses include area pageants.
- Rental for weddings, family gatherings and community presentations.
The building has access to technology, as well as sound and lighting equipment. A screen and projector also are in place. The building is accessible for those with disabilities.
