The Lone Star Plaza was created after a devastating fire destroyed several businesses and the town’s chamber office in 1999.
The plaza is the focus of many community activities and features rock pillars, a wrought iron fence, unique metal benches that highlight an important aspect on the area’s culture and green space with attractive landscaping.
A shelter with copper canopy was added later. The area is available for rental by calling 417-838-7840.
There is ample parking. Donations and memorial contributions help pay for lawn care and landscaping.
